Our Story
During an unprecedented time - the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and amidst a rise of anti-police sentiment - we came together as friends who bravely serve to create a means of giving back to others who bravely serve their communities, no matter the risks or dangers they face. That’s how the Hero Spirit Project was born.
As first responders, we are incredibly proud to wear the shields of the law enforcement organizations we represent. We care deeply about the communities we serve and protect. Safeguarding our fellow Americans is a source of incredible pride. These jobs are true callings and more than a career to us. Across the country, you will find countless men and women who have that same pride and dedication for helping others. That is the hero spirit.
During the pandemic, as so many were forced to work from home, we needed to be present at our jobs more than ever. We were there to respond as always - no matter what the world threw at us. Our commitment to our sworn duty was still as strong as ever, despite the craziness of the world around us. That commitment made us realize that we should do even more to show the world that first responders are more than the uniform they wear and the oaths they swore.
First Responders are more than the job they perform. They are brotherhoods and sisterhoods - true families - who sacrifice and face extreme challenges together. How do we show the world that fact and how do we tell other First Responders that there are people here for them even during their own hard times?
That's when we decided to form Hero Spirit Project, a 501(c)(3) Charity dedicated to helping First Responders and Military members through tough and trying times in their lives.
